THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team and provide comprehensive legal support for our Taiwan site operations and Hongkong site operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for offering legal advice on all legal matters, ensuring compliance with internal governance policies, and being an integral part of the site management team to maintain smooth and compliant site operations. The successful candidate will also handle legal matters related to facilities and assist the headquarters' legal team with transactions in Asian regions. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Legal Advice: Provide expert legal advice on all matters related to the Taiwan site, including corporate, commercial, regulatory, facility and labor law.
  • Legal documents drafting and review:  Possess substantial experience in drafting and reviewing a variety of legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and corporate policies. They will ensure that all documents adhere to relevant laws and regulations and will provide clear and concise advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure internal governance policies are adhered to and regularly monitor compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Deal with complex legal matters involving multiple stakeholders and forces to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Site Management Participation: Be an active member of the site management team to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
  • Other Ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor. 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor in law or above degree education background.
  • PQE over 10 years in private or MNC in-house/corporate practice advising business clients and drafting and negotiating agreements, preferably in technology industry and multinational matrix environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Taiwanese corporate, commercial, regulatory, and labor laws. employment law experience and contract negotiation experience would be a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Conduct all legal work with the highest levels of integrity and responsibility.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
  • Collaboration across matrix environment.
  • Candidate must be flexible and willing to assume additional or different responsibilities as the needs of the client evolve.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor in law or above degree education background.
